B-Line Taxis was started originally in Autumn 2002. From
very small beginnings (a car and a mobile phone!) David Windsor
has built up a thriving transport company. Simply by leaving
business cards in guest houses, pubs, hotels and shops David
now has one of the biggest taxi companies in the South Lakes.
As business grew, drivers came along and joined B-Line, all
bringing along the newest and most up to date modern vehicles
they could afford.
The smart cars and uniformed drivers attracted many businesses
to use B-Line. Most of the hotels around the Windermere and
Ambleside area use B-Line every day from transporting their
guests and staff to picking up lemons or storing luggage.
Local people also use B-Line for their everyday transport
needs. A taxi is reasonably priced when shared by 2 to 8 passengers.
We now also have a small tyre replacement/repair facility
that can be open until 12 o’clock mid-night..

1 - Barry
Barry drives a Ford Scorpio 4 seat saloon car. He is
from Blackburn and has been a taxi driver in the Lakes
for 15 years. Barry loves kit cars so ask for him if
you are a petrol head. |

2 - Jane
Jane drives a Peugeot 807 6 seat car and is our only
lady driver. She also operates the telephone and radio
and likes to keep it jolly (if possible). She is from
Sheffield and has lived and worked in Windermere for
20 years. |

3 Mark
Mark drives a Ford Tourneo 8 seat minibus and is from
Workington. Mark has been a driver for a long time and
does the odd bit of coach driving. He prides himself
on being miserable - ask for Mark if you don’t
want to speak on your journey. |

4 - Dave
Dave drives a Peugeot 807 6 seat car. He has been a
taxi driver for more than 20 years (so he should know
what he’s doing by now!!!) He is the proprietor
of the company and eats, sleeps and breathes Manchester
City FC so if you are a Blue Mooner ask for Dave!! |

5 - Lenny
Lenny drives a Ford Mondeo 4 seat estate car and is
from Ambleside. He has just recently joined B-Line after
many years of lorry driving on the continent. He loves
fishing, football and dogs so ask for Lenny if you are
a furry fish who likes kicking balls. |

6 - Steve C
Steve drives a Volkswagon 8 seat minibus and he generally
works the night shift. He can be seen clearing the streets
of Windermere late most nights. Steve was a postman
for many years and knows the village extremely well.
He also is a very keen Manchester City FC fan so is
used to disappointment. |

7 - David
David drives a Vauxhall Omega 4 seat saloon car. He
has been with B-Line for one season. Rumour has it he
is a very good snooker player but he just can’t
fit a table in the car. He is a born again Christian
and also enjoys golf. |

Graham drives the Peugeot for Dave and works through
the week. He used to have Bowness Post Office so he
is especially good at deliveries! |

Steve drives a Fiat Multipla 5 seat car. He loves rallying
and motor sport so ask for Steve if you like to be shaken
through Grisedale!! |

Sheffield. He owns a Harley Davidson motorbike and knows
everything there is to know about bikes so all you easy
riders ask for John! |

Neil drives a Hyundai Trajet 6 seat car and is from
Ambleside. He loves rugby so if you want to have a conversation
about tries and conversions ask for Neil. |

Morris drive a Peugeot 406 4 seat estate car and is
from Devon. He lives on a narrow boat on a canal so
you could say he’s the captain of the ship. |

Iain drives a Rover 4 seat car and works the night shift
which leaves him plenty of time to enjoy his hobbies
which are windsurfing and walking. |
